Research Scientist
University of New Brunswick, Canada
With a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, I'm currently immersed in the vibrant world of research as a research scientist at the Department of Biological Sciences, University of New Brunswick, Saint John, Canada.
My academic trajectory began with a Ph.D. from the International Islamic University Malaysia, followed by enriching postdoctoral training at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Dalhousie University, Canada.
Equipped with a comprehensive toolkit, I've honed expertise in a range of biological techniques – from animal models to genetic material extraction, and from RT-qPCR to flow cytometry and immunofluorescence. My teaching and mentoring experience spans both graduate and undergraduate levels.
Beyond the lab, I've polished my grant and manuscript writing skills and fostered teamwork, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
My profile seamlessly aligns with both research and teaching roles. With a Certificate in University Teaching and Learning from CETL-DAL at Dalhousie University, and further pedagogical insight gained from workshops by CETL-UNB, I'm well-equipped to deliver engaging and effective education.
Honours, including the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI) postdoctoral award and prestigious Niche and President awards, underscore my commitment to excellence.
A prolific author, my work graces over 12 peer-reviewed journals, earning recognition across Asia, North America and the Middle East.
