Senior Research Scientist
Cancer Institute of Singapore, Singapore
I am Dr PJ Teoh (PhD), a Senior Research Scientist at Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, National University of Singapore (NUS). My experience in multiple myeloma (MM) research has spanned 14+ years, to date and my research focuses on understanding the basic biology of MM, particularly the high-risk disease subtypes, that have remained, till date, a major clinical challenge. My recent projects leverage on the advent of high-throughput technology such as single-cell (sc) sequencing (scATAC-seq, scRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics to decipher the molecular mechanisms of MM tumor evolution and their interaction with immune tumor microenvironment and how do these contribute to the development of drug resistance. My latest research interest is in generating a clinically relevant humanized mouse model, mice i.e. that possess human immune system, for MM research- as a way to better recapitulate the physioloy of MM patients. I am open to exchanging research views and sharing of resources as well as collaboration.
