He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bari in 1994. He obtained a Specialization Diploma in Clinical and Laboratory Hematology and a PhD in “Epidemiology and Prevention in High-Risk Infectious Patients” from the University of Bari in 1999 and 2003, respectively.
Until 2004, he served as a first-level medical executive in the Onco-Hematology Division of the Basilicata Oncology Reference Center, with the professional role of “Coordinator for Myeloproliferative Disorders and Transplantation Activities.” Currently, he works in the Hematology Unit of the “Antonio Perrino” Hospital in Brindisi, where he holds the professional role of “Coordinator for Plasma-Cell Disorders,” focusing on diagnostic, clinical, and research activities primarily in the field of Multiple Myeloma and Monoclonal Gammopathies.
He holds a high-specialization executive position for Multiple Myeloma (pursuant to Articles 27 and 28 of the National Collective Labor Agreement dated 08.06.2000) (Resolution No. 1546 of 29.09.2015 – ASL-Brindisi) and Plasma-Cell Disorders.
He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in national and international journals indexed in Medline, as well as of many conference presentations. He serves as an “independent expert” peer reviewer for international hematology journals. He is a member of the EBMT (European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation) and serves on advisory boards, with a special focus on research into Multiple Myeloma.
