Hematologist
Hematology Department of the University Hospital F. D. Roosevelt in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, Slovakia
Since the beginning of my clinical practice, I have been interested in evaluating the treatment of hemato-oncological patients in real practice, entering data first into the mycotic registry, later into the lymphoma registry, and currently I am in charge of the monoclonal gammopathies registry at my workplace. In 2014-2015 I completed the EHA masterclass, in 2015 I successfully passed the specialization exam in Hematology and transfusion medicine. I am currently completing my doctoral studies with a topic focused on chronic lymphocytic leukemia. I am the author of several professional publications.
Currently, at our workplace, I focus on the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. For more than 10 years, I have been in charge of apheresis, mobilization and collection of peripheral stem cells at my workplace. I am a member of the Slovak Myeloma Group, the Lymphoma Group and a member of the International Myeloma Society. I focus on improving the diagnosis of patients with multiple myeloma, their risk assessment and patient treatment. During my clinical practice, I found that it is necessary to improve the stratification system for patients with MM. Many works evaluate the so-called functionally high-risk MM (patients who do not have risk factors, but nevertheless the treatment of these patients is difficult and the disease does not respond as expected), where we do not yet have a defined risk marker. I would like to contribute to the discovery of new risk factors in these patients, ideally with the possibility of investigating them also in small workplaces and clinics.
