Dr. Prashant Tembhare is a Clinician Scientist and Professor in the Hematopathology Laboratory, ACTREC, Tata Memorial Center, Mumbai.
He obtained an MD in Pathology and a Hematopathology fellowship at the Tata Memorial Centre. Then he obtained a fellowship in clinical and research flow cytometry at the National Cancer Institute, NIH, Bethesda, USA. He has been working at TMC since 2013. He has published more than 120 research articles with more than 5162 citations. He has written flow cytometry chapters in four international textbooks. He has received many national and international awards and his H-index is 24. He is on the editorial board and a reviewer for many national and international journals. He is the secretary of the Cytometry Society India.
More recently, he has authored 13 topics in the upcoming 5th WHO book for Hematolymphoid neoplasm.
His expertise includes the flow cytometric assessment of high-sensitivity MRD monitoring in myeloma, B-ALL, T-ALL, AML, T-NHL, and CLL. He also works on flow cytometric rare event analysis, MDS, B and T-NHL, DNA ploidy evaluation and Pediatric round cell tumor determination by flow cytometry. Recently, he has standardized 16-color immune cell profile monitoring and rare event analysis in hematolymphoid neoplasms, CAR-T-cell monitoring assay, and anti-CD19 B-ALL MRD assay. Currently, he is working on highly sensitive blood MRD in myeloma.
