Cristina Panaroni, PhD is Instructor in Medicine as a part of the Multiple Myeloma Unit in the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Panaroni earned her PhD from IUSS University of Pavia, Italy. She is passionate about understanding the contribution of the bone marrow microenvironment to the development of hematological malignancies. She completed her research fellowship at the Endocrine Unit of the Massachusetts General Hospital (2011-2012) and Stanford University (2012-2015) where she studies the role of cells of the mesenchymal lineages on hematopoiesis with particular focus on B lymphopoiesis. Since 2015 she returned to Mass General to work on translational research programs in Multiple Myeloma. She is interested in pre-clinical evaluation of small molecules and cell therapies, and identifying new therapeutic targets in the bone marrow microenvironment of myeloma patients. She is a recipient of Travel Awards in Europe from European Science Foundation and International Conference on Osteoimmunology and several Travel Awards in USA from the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research.
