I did my MSc and PhD in Germany (Universities of Cologne and Karlsruhe, respectively), my post-doctoral training in Switzerland (Basel Institute for Immunology). I am Full Professor of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Biochemsitry and Medicak Genetics, and Human Anatomy and Cell Science at the Univeristy of Manitoba, and a Senior Investigator at CancerCare Manitoba. I hold a Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in Genomic Instability and Nuclear Architectur ein Cancer. I am the Director of the Genomic Centre for Cancer Research and Diagnosis (GCCRD)/Nano and Cell Imaging Facility (NCIF), a cutting-edge multi-user imaging facility, that I established. My career goal is to understand mechanisms of cancer initiation and progression, and I am working towards applying the knowledge gained to cancer patient care.
