Dr. Andreu Casas Medina, MD – Hematology Resident, Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Barcelona, Spain
I am a medical doctor currently in my third year of residency in Hematology at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol in Barcelona, Spain. I was born in Guatemala and raised in Barcelona, where I completed my medical degree at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with clinical rotations at Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron.
After passing Spain’s national medical residency exam (MIR), I began my specialty training in hematology. My main areas of interest are malignant hematology, plasma cell disorders, and monoclonal gammopathies. I am currently part of the Multiple Myeloma Group at my institution, where I participate in both clinical and translational research projects.
Attending the International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting 2025 is part of my ongoing training and a valuable opportunity to stay updated and engage with the international community working in the field of plasma cell dyscrasias.
