Dr. Prerna Mewawalla is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist specializing in plasma cell disorders, stem cell transplantation, and cellular therapies. She serves as Medical Director of Apheresis at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Associate Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Dr. Mewawalla is the principal investigator on several clinical trials in multiple myeloma and amyloidosis and has published extensively in journals. At AHN, she is on the Executive Committee Member of the Cancer Institute and is also the founding Chair of the Women Physicians Employee Resource Group at AHN. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Allegheny County Medical Society and was elected as district 13 women physicians representative for Pennsylvania Medical Society.
