Rosa Toenges, MD is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and an associate researcher at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Her research focuses on genomic profiling and single-cell multi-omic analysis in multiple myeloma and its precursor stages, aiming to understand tumor evolution and immune regulation under immunotherapy.
Dr. Toenges has developed novel approaches for whole-genome sequencing from minimal tumor material, including circulating tumor cells and single plasma cells, enabling the study of genomic alterations in high-risk smoldering myeloma and relapsed/refractory disease. She integrates genomic, transcriptomic, and immune profiling to identify molecular determinants of treatment response and resistance, with the goal of guiding precision medicine strategies.
Trained as a physician at the University of Bonn, Dr. Toenges completed her residency in internal medicine and one year of subspecialty training in hematology/oncology at University Hospital Frankfurt before joining Dana-Farber in 2022. Her long-term research vision is to translate genomic discoveries into precision therapies for plasma cell disorders.
