Instructor in Medicine
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Boston, Massachusetts
Dr. Tarek Mouhieddine is a Clinical Investigator and Instructor in Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he pursued the physician-scientist track, focusing on translational and lab-based research in multiple myeloma. During his training, he developed an expertise in immunotherapy, particularly T cell–based strategies such as CAR T cells and bispecific antibodies, and investigated mechanisms of resistance to T cell redirection therapies and high-risk myeloma subtypes, including extramedullary disease.
Prior to Mount Sinai, Dr. Mouhieddine attended the American University of Beirut Medical School and finished a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he contributed to seminal work exploring the genomic and immune landscape of myeloma and its precursor conditions. His research integrated next generation sequencing and single cell analysis to better understand tumor evolution, immune dysfunction, and therapy response.
Dr. Mouhieddine remains deeply engaged in advancing patient-centered care, particularly for individuals facing aggressive or treatment-resistant myeloma. He is committed to building multidisciplinary collaborations that accelerate the translation of scientific discovery into clinical benefit. His long-term vision is to develop innovative, biomarker-driven treatment strategies that not only extend survival but improve quality of life for patients across the spectrum of plasma cell disorders.
