I am Luca Bertamini, MD and work at Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I trained as hematologist at University of Torino, Italy and I worked as a research fellow in the USA at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA in the lab of Prof. Irene Ghobrial. Currently, I am completing my academic training with a PhD in Rotterdam under the mentorship of Prof. Pieter Sonneveld and Dr.Tom Cupedo. My research focuses on the prognostic impact of circulating tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment on myeloma pathology and outcome. My goal is to integrate laboratory and translational clinical research to clarify the underlying biology of key prognostic factors, such as circulating tumor cells. Ultimately, this work aims to improve patient stratification and, consequently, clinical outcomes of myeloma patients.
