Douglas E. Joshua, BSc (Hons) MB BS (Hons), D Phil (Oxon) FRACP FRCPA FFSc (RCPA) is an Emeritus Consultant Haematologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Emeritus Professor at the University of Sydney. He was previously Head of Clinical Haematology at Sydney Cancer Centre, Head of the Sydney Area Health Service Haematology Service, Alan Ng Professor in Medicine at the University of Sydney, and Director of the Institute of Haematology and Senior Specialist in Haematology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, New South Wales, Australia. He has received many awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Myeloma Society.
Prof. Joshua received his MB, BS, and his D Phil degrees respectively from the University of Sydney and the University of Oxford. He is a fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a fellow of The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and a founding member of the Faculty of Science or the RCPA. He was Chief Examiner in Haematology for the RCPA.
Prof. Joshua is a scientific advisor and member of the International Myeloma Foundation, and a reviewer for many journals, and serves on the editorial board of Clinical and Laboratory Hematology and Clinical Lymphoma and Myeloma.
Prof. Joshua has collaborated on many clinical trials in myeloma, as well as having direct involvement in basic science research. He has been supported by such organizations as the National Health and Medical Research Council, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, and the University of Sydney Cancer Research Fund. He has published extensively in clinical and basic research in myeloma with a special interest in T cell recognition of myeloma and immune reactivity against the tumor.
