Sara Gandolfi, MD, PhD is a physician scientist and currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM) and at University of Nantes, France.
Dr Gandolfi completed her medical studies and her hematology fellowship at University of Milan, Italy. During her Clinical Hematology training, she pursued a translational hematology research career in Dr Constantine Mitsiades lab, Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School, where she conducted functional genomic studies to uncover the mechanisms of multiple myeloma resistance to proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTACs) and to natural killer (NK) cell immune-response.
She was awarded the 2021 International Myeloma Society Career Development Award that gave her the opportunity to join Dr Satu Mustjoki lab at the Hematology Research Unit in Helsinki, Finland, to advance a collaborative project on the molecular landscape of NK cell immune-evasion in multiple myeloma and other hematologic malignancies.
