Lorenzo Lindo is a PhD Candidate in Oncology at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, BC, Canada) who is currently completing his PhD studies as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Calgary (Calgary, AB, Canada). Lorenzo started his UBC PhD at the Terry Fox Laboratory (now re-organized into the Basic and Translational Department) at the BC Cancer Research Institute with Dr. Kevin Hay in 2020, and moved with the lab to the Riddell Centre for Cancer Immunotherapy as part of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute at the University of Calgary in 2024. His work focusses on the preclinical modelling of CAR-T cell therapy in multiple myeloma using both syngeneic and xenograft models to develop next-generation CAR-T cells that are more active and with the potential to control toxicity. He holds a BSc in Biology & Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia, where his research work encompassed pancreatic cancer, type 2 diabetes mellitus, autism spectrum disorder, and emergency medicine.
Outside of the laboratory, Lorenzo is an avid skier, cyclist, rock climber, runner, and weightlifter.
