Dr. Bhasin is a Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Biomedical Informatics, Division of Hematology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Bhasin is the Director of Genomics, Proteomics, Bioinformatics, and Systems Biology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Bhasin is a leader in the field of multidimensional and integrative 'omics' analysis of data related to immunotherapies. He also serves as the Co-Director of the Atlanta initiative for single-cell omics and analytics, a collaborative effort between Emory School of Medicine, Georgia Tech and Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Bhasin has developed multiple tools for the analysis of single-cell omics data. His current research is focused on developing multi-dimensional single-cell maps for pediatric and adult cancers to identify novel cell-specific therapeutic biomarkers for developing next-generation therapies. He recently developed the first pediatric cancer single-cell atlas to understand tumor and microenvironment heterogeneity and understand the mechanism of disease progression. He is also working on developing a single cell transcriptomics and proteomics immune atlas for multiple myeloma in collaboration with the multiple myeloma research foundation immune atlas consortium to understand the role of the immune microenvironment in disease progression.
