    Jesús San-Miguel is Professor of Medicine-Hematology, currently Senior Consultant and Strategic Advisor at the Cancer Center of Clinica Universidad de Navarra in Spain. For the past 10 years he has served at this institution as Director of Clinical and Translational Medicine. He was Director of the Hematology Department of the University Hospital of Salamanca in Spain, for more than 2 decades, He was President of the International Myeloma Society from 2012 until 2019.Professor San-Miguel has published extensively (over 900 original papers, H-Index: 148 and >100.000 citations) and has made seminal contributions to myeloma cell biology and Therapuetics He has had a leading role in generating cooperative groups and networks (at both domestic and international level) . His mentorship role includes >50 haematologists and >40 PhD students trained under his supervision. Dr San Miguel´s reputation has been recognized by more than 30 Research Awards and Honors, such as: the Waldenstrom Award, the Kyle Life Achievement Award, the EHA-Carreras Award, the Thomas H. Ham-Wasserman Lecture Award, the Michaelli Award, the KNAW Bob Pinedo Award, Premio Fundación Lilly, Premio Rey Jaime I and the Spanish National Prize of Medicine.
