    Dr. Gonsalves is a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in the Division of Hematology. He completed his medical school and internal medicine residency at Creighton University School of Medicine, his fellowship training in hematology/oncology, and an advanced fellowship in dysproteinemias at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His clinical practice focuses on managing patients with plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma, primary plasma cell leukemia, light chain amyloidosis, and other related clonal plasma cell disorders. His translational research focuses on understanding the cellular metabolism of malignant plasma cells in diseases such as multiple myeloma and their precursor states by employing various metabolomics-based techniques in an integrated fashion.
