    He is currently an IMS board member, and immediate past president of Japanese society of myeloma (JSM). He is also acting as an advisory doctor of Japanese myeloma patient association. He has been studying on the pathogenesis for myeloma-related conditions, including bone disease, and the mechanisms for drug resistance in myeloma, and is currently dissecting age-related changes in the bone and bone marrow in myeloma and the interaction of bone marrow innervation with myeloma progression.
