Armand Ghazanfar, PharmD, PGY-1 Resident, TTUHSC SOP/BSA Hospital.
Hello everyone. I am a recent graduate from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. I obtained my MBA from Texas Tech University and my BS in Health from the University of Houston. Currently, I am a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident at BSA Hospital. My goal afterwards is to pursue a fellowship or a PGY-2 in either leadership, informatics, or oncology. Long-term, I would like to continue doing research work and work in the pharmaceutical industry. My ideal goal would be to be in a C-suite position.
I have always held an interest in oncology. Being from Houston, home of M.D. Anderson, oncology naturally became an interest of mine. During pharmacy school, I interned at the University of Texas Southwestern Simmons Cancer Center. While there, I worked in the infusion pharmacy compounding medications, and I also worked in the investigational department, being hands-on with clinical development of drugs in clinical trials. Throughout pharmacy school, I did multiple CE presentations on oncology topics.
I am honored to be a part of a phenomenal research team, consisting of hematologists, pharmacists, and data analysts, all from across the country. We do our research primarily in multiple myeloma, meeting weekly to discuss ongoing projects. Everyone on this team has a passion for their role and committed care to oncology. I look forward to many more projects with this team. As a team, we look forward to bringing meaningful knowledge and improving the care for oncology patients around the world.
