Mutliple Myeloma Nurse Practitioner
Alfred Health
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Daniela Klarica is a multiple myeloma Nurse Practitioner at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She has more than 20 years’ experience caring for haematology patients and was endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner in 2017 following completion of her masters of nursing (Nurse Practitioner) in 2016. Daniela’s role is primarily based in the outpatient setting where she cares and supports patients and their familes with myeloma in all aspects of their treatment phase from daignosis through to end of life care including those undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation. In 2015 Daniela successfully developed and implemented an innovative nurse-led community based Bortezomib in the home administration program, enabling patients to spend more time at home. Daniela is a pivotal member of The Alfred myeloma team, attending the weekly plasma cell disorder clinic where she assesses and manages people with a diagnosis of Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance. She has established a myeloma supportive care clinic for patients post-autologous stem cell transplatiation and is an experienced clinician in the late effects team, a dedicated survivorship clinic for patients who are two and more years beyond stem cell transplant.
